Create a USB Configuration File
CMS can export a configuration file to a USB drive. This USB configuration file is then simply plugged into a ScreenBeam receiver’s USB port to write the configuration parameters to the receiver. The steps below will guide you to creating a configuration file to setup a receiver to connect to your network and point it to your CMS server.
1. |
From the Discovery tab select USB Auto Configure Receiver. |
|
2. |
Under Select a ScreenBeam Product, select the appropriate model and firmware version number for your ScreenBeam receiver. |
|
3. |
Check the CMS Settings for Receiver Enter the IP address of your CMS server and the configured CMS Communication port into the appropriate fields. Note: You can also use a hostname or FQDN for your CMS server. |
|
4. |
Select the checkbox for the method you plan to use to connect your ScreenBeam receiver to the network. Note: Wired ethernet is always on. Select TCP/IP Settings if you would like to configure a static IP for your receiver. |
|
5. |
Plug a FAT32 formatted USB flash drive into your CMS server PC. Select the flash drive from the drop-down list and select Save. |
|
6. |
You may alternatively save the configuration file to a location on your local drive. To do this, select the ... button to the right of the drop-down list and select the location where you would like to save the config files. |
|
7. |
The config files will be saved to a folder named aei_config. Copy this entire folder to the root of your flash drive. |

Configure Your ScreenBeam Receiver
You’ve created your CMS USB configuration flash drive. Now, we are ready to use it to configure your ScreenBeam receivers to communicate with CMS.
1. |
Power on your ScreenBeam receiver. Wait for the receiver to display the Ready to Connect screen. |
|
2. |
Plug your USB flash drive into a free USB port on your ScreenBeam receiver. Note: The ScreenBeam 1000/1100 has 3 USB ports located on the rear of the unit. |
|
3. |
After a few seconds you should see a screen notifying you of the configuration changes being made. |
|
4. |
After reboot, the receiver should automatically connect to the network you configured, and the receiver will now appear on the CMS receiver list. |
