To connect a Chromebook or Chrome browser to ScreenBeam, you must first enable the Google Cast feature and then select a connection method to use:

Step 1: Enable The Google Cast Feature
Enable Google Cast to Beam from Your Chromebook or Chrome Browser
You must enable Google Cast on ScreenBeam to beam from Chromebook or Chrome browser. This feature is disabled by default. Follow the steps below to enable this feature on your receiver.
Turn On Google Cast From the Local Management Interface
Login to the LMI and enable Google Cast

Connect to the ScreenBeam local Wi-Fi on your laptop or PC. Open the browser to the URL http://192.168.26.1. This will open the ScreenBeam receiver Local Management Interface page. Note: By default the ScreenBeam local Wi-Fi network name will be in the format AP-xxxxxx where xxxxxx is a unique 6 character ID for your device. |

Navigate to the Features tab and scroll down to Wireless display over LAN section. |

3. |
Check Enable on the ChromeOS/Chrome native screen mirroring feature. |

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Apply. |

Method 1: Connect To The Same Network
Why Should I Use This Connection Method?
Use this method if your ScreenBeam is on the same network as your ChromeOS/Chrome device. This method requires mDNS packets to be allowed across the network. This is how the ChromeOS/Chrome devices will discover the ScreenBeam receiver and connect to it. This method is the simplest method for end users as they do not need to connect to a different network on their ChromeOS/Chrome device to initiate a Screen Mirroring session.
Connect ScreenBeam Receiver To Your Network Using Ethernet
If you have an available ethernet line for your ScreenBeam receiver, use it to connect your receiver to your network. * Network and device must have internet connectivity.

Plug your ethernet cable to the ethernet port on the rear of the ScreenBeam receiver. |

If needed, set your receiver’s network configuration. Note: Refer to the section Connect the Receiver to a Network in the user manual for further assistance. |

3. |
An IP address will appear on the Ready to Connect screen. |
|
4. |
Enable Multicast DNS (mDNS) packets over this network. Refer to your AP documentation or support for this configuration. Note: : If mDNS is not enabled, the packets for device discovery will be blocked, preventing the ChromeOS/Chrome device from seeing the ScreenBeam receiver over the network. |

Connect ScreenBeam Receiver To Your Network Using Wireless
If you do not have an available ethernet line for ScreenBeam you can still connect to your network using wireless. * Network and device must have internet connectivity.

Access the Local Management Interface on your ScreenBeam receiver and go to the Network Settings tab. Note: Refer to the section Using Local Management on ScreenBeam in the user manual for further assistance. |

Enter the Network Name for the network you would like the ScreenBeam to connect to and configure the security settings for that network. |

3. |
If needed, set your receiver’s network configuration.. Note: Refer to the section Setting up the Receiver’s IP Address in the user manual for further assistance. |

Select the time on the bottom right corner of the desktop. A menu will appear. |

3. |
Select the Cast button. |
|
4. |
Select your ScreenBeam receiver from the list of receivers. |
|
5. |
Select the screen you would like to share and click the Share button. |
|
6. |
Your screen will now be mirrored on the TV. |

Connect Chrome Browser To ScreenBeam
With your ScreenBeam set up, you can now connect your device to your receiver through the Chrome browser.

Make sure you’re the device you want to mirror is connected to the same network as your ScreenBeam receiver. |

2. |
Open your Chrome browser and click on the three dots on the upper right corner to bring up a menu. Select the Cast… option. |
|
3. |
Select your ScreenBeam receiver from the list of receivers. |
|
4. |
You may also click the Sources button to select what to cast for the current session. |
|
5. |
Your screen will now be mirrored on the TV. |

Method 2: Connect To ScreenBeam Local Wi-Fi
Why Should I Use This Connection Method?
Use this method if you do not plan to connect the ScreenBeam receiver to your network, if you do not want to enable mDNS over your network, or if you are connecting the receiver to a separate network from your users. This method will allow users to use native screen mirroring from their ChromeOS/Chrome device to ScreenBeam by connecting to the built-in local Wi-Fi network on the receiver.
Connect ChromeOS to the ScreenBeam Local Wi-Fi
Connect your ChromeOS/Chrome device to the ScreenBeam local Wi-Fi in order to be able to discover the receiver for screen mirroring.

On the ChromeOS device, click on the time on the lower right corner of the screen and then click on the show network list drop-down. Note: If you are using a non-Chromebook device, and connecting using the Chrome browser, refer to your device’s user manual on how to connect to a Wi-Fi network. |

Select the ScreenBeam local Wi-Fi network name from the list. Note: By default the ScreenBeam local Wi-Fi network name will be in the format AP-xxxxxx where xxxxxx is a unique 6 character ID for your device. |

3. |
Enter the password for the ScreenBeam local Wi-Fi network. Note: The default password is screenbeam. |

4. |
Once connected successfully you will see the ScreenBeam local Wi-Fi network name appear as the connected network in the menu. |

Connect ChromeOS Device To ScreenBeam
With your ScreenBeam set up, you can now connect your ChromeOS device to your receiver.

Make sure your ChromeOS device is connected to the ScreenBeam receiver local Wi-Fi. |
