There are two methods you can use to connect your iOS device to ScreenBeam:
- Connect your ScreenBeam receiver and your iOS device to the same network
- Connect your iOS device to the ScreenBeam local Wi-Fi
Method 1: Connect To The Same Network
Why Should I Use This Connection Method?
Use this method if your ScreenBeam is on the same network as your iOS device. This method requires mDNS packets to be allowed across the network. This is how the iOS devices will discover the ScreenBeam receiver and connect to it. This method is the simplest method for end users as they do not need to connect to a different network on their iOS device to initiate a Screen Mirroring session.
Connect ScreenBeam Receiver To Your Network Using Ethernet
If you have an available ethernet line for your ScreenBeam receiver, use it to connect your receiver to your network.
1. |
Plug your ethernet cable to the ethernet port on the rear of the ScreenBeam receiver. |
|
2. |
If needed, set your receiver’s network configuration. Note: Refer to the section Connect the Receiver to a Network in the user manual for further assistance. |
|
3. |
An IP address will appear on the Ready to Connect screen. |
|
4. |
Enable Multicast DNS (mDNS) packets over this network. Refer to your AP documentation or support for this configuration. Note: If mDNS is not enabled, the packets for device discovery will be blocked, preventing the iOS device from seeing the ScreenBeam receiver over the network. |
|
Connect ScreenBeam Receiver To Your Network Using Wireless
If you do not have an available ethernet line for ScreenBeam you can still connect to your network using wireless.
1. |
Access the Local Management interface on your ScreenBeam receiver and go to the Network Settings tab. Note: Refer to the Using Local Management on ScreenBeam section of the user manual for additional details on accessing the Local Management interface. |
|
2. |
Enter the Network Name for the network you would like the ScreenBeam to connect to and configure the security settings for that network. |
|
3. |
If needed, set your receiver’s network configuration. Note: Refer to the section Setting up the Receiver’s IP Address in the user manual for further assistance. |
|
4. |
An IP address will appear on the Ready to Connect screen. |
|
5. |
Enable Multicast DNS (mDNS) packets over your network. Refer to your AP documentation or support for this configuration. Note: If mDNS is not enabled, the packets for device discovery will be blocked, preventing the iOS device from seeing the ScreenBeam receiver over the network. |
|
Connect iOS Device To ScreenBeam

|
3. |

|
4. |
A PIN entry box will appear. Enter the PIN that is displayed on the TV. |

Method 2: Connect To ScreenBeam Local Wi-Fi
Why Should I Use This Connection Method?
Use this method if you do not plan to connect the ScreenBeam receiver to your network, if you do not want to enable mDNS over your network, or if you are connecting the receiver to a separate network from your users. This method will allow users to use native screen mirroring from their iOS device to ScreenBeam by connecting to the built-in WiFi network on the receiver.
