This article applies to the following ScreenBeam products:
Known Issues & Limitations
- Hardware setup
- USB 3.0 all-in-one video bar or camera must connect to the USB 3.0 port on ScreenBeam receiver.
- USB 2.0 camera, microphone or speakerphone must connect to the USB 2.0 port on ScreenBeam receiver.
- If the setup includes 2 USB peripherals, it is recommended to connect both devices to the USB 2.0 ports OR one to the USB 3.0 and one to the USB 2.0 next to the power.
- ScreenBeam USB ports do not provide enough current to power some USB AV peripherals. These devices are required to plug in to their own power adapter or powered USB hub before connecting to ScreenBeam's USB.
- A Powered USB Hub is required for any All-in-one USB Conference Cameras that do not have a dedicated power supply OR certain USB Cameras that require additional power (e.g., Jabra Panacast).
- When deploying a Powered USB Hub, it’s recommended to connect the hub to the USB 2.0 port on ScreenBeam receiver. The Powered USB Hub can be 2.0 or 3.0 (i.e., Amazon Basics 4 Port USB to USB 3.0 Hub with 5V/2.5A Power Adapter).
- ScreenBeam 1100 Plus receiver’s USB 3.0 port can be used for touchscreen display but shall not be used for USB camera, microphone, or speaker.
- Deployment configuration that includes a USB webcam and the TV speakers (internal or external) is currently not supported at this time. Since the TV speakers and microphone are not from one device, the setup is likely to produce audio echo to the remote participants.
- Receiver configuration
- If ScreenBeam Integrated Zoom service is enabled before ScreenBeam Conference service is installed, a manual restart maybe required for the new service and instructions to load.
- Both ScreenBeam Conference and Integrated Zoom conference services cannot be enabled concurrently at this time. Both can be installed, but if one is enabled then other will be disabled.
- ScreenBeam Conference service only works when the receiver is in the following configurations:
- Standard Wireless Display
- Single View display mode
- Landscape orientation
- Software installation
- Windows Defender SmartScreen may try to prevent the ScreenBeam Conference software installation. Click on More Info and select Run Anyway.
- Expect Windows installer to automatically terminate web conferencing application to complete the installation. User will be prompted before the uninstaller terminates the application(s).
- Expect Windows uninstaller to automatically terminate ScreenBeam Conference application and any apps or browser that is holding the in-room microphone or camera device. User will be prompted before the uninstaller terminates the application(s).
- Uninstaller cannot proceed if Windows Sound Settings is using the in-room microphone. User needs to manually change the in-room mic to the system mic for the uninstallation to proceed.
- Audio and video
- Windows 10 Miracast max resolution is 1080p30 when ScreenBeam Conference is enabled.
- Miracast duplicate from a 4K-capable laptop may experience unclear text onscreen. Go to Windows 10 Settings > Display to adjust the Resolution to 1920 x 1080 and Scaling to 125%.
- When both a USB webcam and USB speakerphone are detected, only the Mic on the USB speakerphone will be functional.
- All audio will output through the USB speaker if an All-in-one USB video bar or a USB speakerphone is connected to ScreenBeam.
- After the software installation is complete, the system’s audio and or camera setting may default to the In-room (ScreenBeam) device.
- Feature and performance
- Upon connecting to ScreenBeam Conference, the web conferencing application may not select the correct microphone, speakers, or camera for the meeting. Be sure to check the device selection in the web conference application settings. Help text and screenshots are provided in ScreenBeam Conference.
- Upon disconnecting from ScreenBeam Conference, the web conferencing application does not return to the system’s microphone, speakers, or camera. Be sure to check the device selection in the web conference application settings for your next meeting. A help message is displayed after each meeting in ScreenBeam Conference.
- Removal and reconnect (hot plug) of the USB Peripheral Device is not recommended during a conference session. This could result to ScreenBeam failing to recognize the device and a restart is necessary.
- A 300-500ms audio delay is expected from the participants using ScreenBeam Conference.
